With more than 20 years architectural experience, Filippo Gabbiani has been recognized as one of “the 100 most influential architects in China” by Architectural Digest Magazine for four consecutive years since its first edition.
Born in Venice, Italy, from a famous family of artists and glass makers, Filippo Gabbiani developed very early a multidisciplinary interest for art and design. While designing and producing artistic glass for the family business he completed his studies at the University of Architecture of Venice where he graduated with an innovative research project on the usage of alternative energies in architecture.
Following his instinctive curiosity for different disciplines and cultures he worked in several European countries and in the U.S.A. cooperating with architecture, interior and industrial design firms prior to founding Kokaistudios.
Kokaistudios primarily focuses on developing culture, corporate, commercial, hospitality and retail as well as urban regeneration projects involving the conversion of heritage locations, which have received many international awards including UNESCO Heritage Awards and Prix Versailles Awards.
His passion for design extends into his many lectures, publications, exhibitions, academic and educational work. In 2019, he was invited by UNESCO to give a speech on culture and creativity empowerment in urban regeneration development for International Creative Cities Design & Innovation Forum. Joined with many prestigious architects all around the world, he is also a member of IAI Academic Committee organized by Asia Pacific Designers Federation.
