Description
True to form, Alex Roskin’s LED sculptural lamp, in hand hammered brass and hand carved marble, has the same perfectly proportioned curves as his unique bronze and steel furniture pieces. Internal LEDs bounce off of the marble, giving the work a warm, glow that punctuates its smooth, curvilinear lines.

The First two designs of the Fleur De Lis table lamp were cast in Bronze, and Brass. In the third addition to the, the rear form was hand carved in hand selected Baswada Marble with purple veining. The front form that houses the LED strip in hand hammered brass.

Bio

Rejecting outright anthropomorphic mimicry in favor of subtle, sculpted muscular forms, Roskin notes: “I try with each piece to create a stance and a presence, some with more contrapposto. I aim to give each piece a feeling it is inhaling or ready to make a move. I try to steer clear of the decorative, but rather to draw on mass, volume, line, negative space, and my love of materials and the craft of working with them.”

As Roskin works on a commission basis, custom designs may be requested. Exclusively represented by Todd Merrill Studio NY
