Entry Description

Located in a landmark Renaissance Revival style building in the NoHo Historic District, Gato is organized into three distinct areas. A rectangular redwood structure made from reclaimed water tank wood frames the inside of the entryway. To the left is the host stand which is positioned in front of a floor-to-ceiling, glazed ceramic blue tile wall with a rectangular niche finished in burnt orange Venetian plaster. The 12-seat lounge is located to the right, and features a custom leather sofa and a marble-top coffee table.

The entire space features original brick vaults on the ceiling lit with industrial influenced lights and exposed brick walls. The flooring for the bar and main dining room is a custom designed, Mediterranean inspired cement hex tile handcrafted in Vietnam in dark blue, white and terracotta hues.

The 117-seat main dining room is located towards the back of the restaurant and has windows that look out onto Crosby Street. The dining tables are made of solid walnut wood. The dining chairs are similar to the bentwood style bar stools with dark blue accents in the center of the back to match the floor tiles. Large trapezoidal burnt orange light fixtures are installed along the walls.
