Entry Description

We were commissioned to design this 1,700 square foot residential spa nestled in the Finger Lakes of New York. The client requested a ‘place of escape, including all the amenities of a luxury resort spa.’ It was to be a departure from the rest of the home's traditional decor. There is still a whisper of traditional detail referencing the home, but a much more minimal approach to the details. The interior's tone on tone palette is layered with opulence and rich with textures and materials.
We detailed the spa similar to an all-inclusive treatment suite. Allowing the owners and their guests to relax and escape within the private lounge, soak in the freestanding ‘tub for 2’ surrounded by a cascading water curtain or rejuvenate themselves in the steam room with a deluge shower and walls stenciled in mother of pearl after the treatment of their choice in the couples massage room or a private Yoga session.
Additionally we included:
A custom designed, two-sided fireplace to connect one of the lounges to the wet experiences.
European Sensory Loungers for the ultimate relaxation experience.
Color changing lighting integrated into the water curtain surrounding the soaking tub.
Sheer drapery ‘dip-dyed’ and stenciled in metallic paint as soft partitions in one of the lounges.
The spa’s palette reflects the tranquility of the lake. The furnishings are detailed with silver leaf, marble, antique mirror, plush velvets, suede silks, embroidery, inlaid shell, white silver, and alabaster to complete the luxurious spa experience.
