Store in Lisbon

Lead DesignersCristina Jorge de Carvalho
Prize(s)Silver in Interior Design / Conceptual
Entry Description

This project had as a starting point the image renewal of a centennial fashion store in the heart of Lisbon. Its prevalent concepts are timelessness and luxury, although stripped.
The proposed interior architecture project includes a total reformulation of the space layout by adapting it to its new functionalities, needs, materials and lighting set up. The interior design project was envisioned with the items featured at the store as its main focus, especially through the design of furniture pieces that highlight the store’s collection.
The space develops into two levels: the mezzanine is a more exclusive area where the more exclusive brands are presented. The entrance floor is wider and its very high ceiling conveys scale and magnitude to the space.
The blend of noble materials like brass, stone and leather with iron and cement redefine the concept of luxury and express a timeless contemporary feel.
This contrast game between different materials, colors and textures also contributes to the definition of the different areas within the space in an elegant manner. The register and perfume areas are a great example of this.
The attention to all details, the thoughtful study of the lighting set up and the materials and color palette in itself convey a cosmopolitan and exclusive elegance to the space that mirrors the concept of the store.
