Working in conjunction with Hunter Douglas Ceilings
group, HOK’s client-specific ceiling design required a
robust yet precise, point-accessible baffle ceiling
system for Phoenix’s new landmark, 44th Street PHX
SkyTrain station.
Developed through a process of mockups and
collaboration with trades and contractors, HOK led the
design, construction and manufacturing team with the
approval of an instrumental sliding attachment device
for the extruded aluminum aero-shaped baffles.
Hunter Douglas produced this new system for the
project's 3-level, 33,600 SF installation at ceiling
heights ranging from 10’ to 40’, while allowing service
trades constant point-access in ceiling openings
created by the sliding attachment device.
