These key visuals were developed for the graduation ceremonies of three cohorts of students -- GR21, GR22, and GR23 -- from the Graphic + Digital Design program at InFocus Film School. The illustrations highlight unique qualities of each group: GR21 was the smallest-ever class, GR22's students hailed from myriad backgrounds, and GR23 overcame many challenges to graduate.
The visuals combine analog and digital illustration, and cleverly incorporate the red dot from the school's logomark (square icon, lower right corners). They were ultimately used in email invitations, videos, and slideshows.
Leila Singleton is a hands-on art and creative director in Vancouver, BC, Canada. She was drawing before age one, and had planned to study painting, but fell in love with graphic design. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with honors, from SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design).
Leila began as an ad agency art director, built a DMO’s in-house design division, and then went solo, working for San Francisco’s Stern Grove Festival, and for clients at the University of California, Berkeley, among others.
Leila teaches and judges advertising and design competitions. She still draws.
Leila's work appears in over 30 books and magazines; has been exhibited in locations such as New York City's Times Square and Kharkov, Ukraine; and has been recognized with more than 60 honours from organizations including the International Design Awards, the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts, American Graphic Design and Advertising, Creative Quarterly, Graphis, GDUSA, Hiiibrand, Indigo Design Award, MUSE Creative Awards, and Summit International Awards.
