The 57-story Salesforce Chicago sits where the Chicago River’s branches meet. The Ohana Floor, Salesforce’s marquee work and gathering space, sits on Levels 56-57 offering panoramic views. The goal for this space was to transform workspaces to reinforce the company’s commitment to “Ohana”—a Hawaiian term for “family” that embodies the firm’s values. The space connects to nature via views, daylight, and landscape to promote social harmony for its occupants. Its flexible design allows for the floors to adapt to different uses, enhancing connections among employees, customers, and communities.
With clarity in form and function, and roots in their surroundings, Mark Cavagnero’s projects mirror and honor their communities. Since the firms founding in San Francisco in 1993, Mark Cavagnero has built the practice on flexible design, simple solutions, and a palette of elemental materials of glass, concrete, and wood. The firm’s consistent consideration of each project’s context has garnered clients’ trust, and has allowed the firm to drop architectural gems throughout the city of San Francisco and the greater Bay Area that tie their communities together.
