Entry Description

The planned Hood Park neighborhood will transform the Hood Dairy Company’s historic Boston production complex into a 24/7 mixed-use district. The new 22,000-sf Hood Bike Park is the neighborhood’s early crown jewel, the village green for concerts, farmer’s markets, and other uses by and for the community. The park’s plane is lifted and tilted away from industrial uses. The tree grove and terrace at the top visually shield the park and overlook the Hood smokestack and lawn. Underneath, a handsome wood-clad pavilion supporting the terrace houses bike facilities. Native plantings capture pollution.
