This project doubles as a center for oceanographic research as well as a visitor’s center for Hunting Island State Park. It is designed as a campus, each building having their own program and purpose. Furthermore, each building employs their own sustainability measures including active and passive energy generating strategies, rainwater collection, purification and redistribution. The buildings are also designed in a way that is mindful of the site and the resources available locally for its construction. The building is environmentally conscious, highly efficient, and a community asset.
