For spaces along the overall circulation, the design highlights the iconic “central passage” and turns it into the main entrance which becomes a “thick” space between outdoor and indoor areas through a variety of vertical designs. In terms of the architectural style, the design applies red bricks to carry forward the University style and adopts barrel vaults along the central passage as a mnemonic symbol. Bricks naturally become a theme of the facade while barrel vaults turn into a theme of architectural form, and both of them continue to develop.
