Created by Bob Marley’s children, the House of Marley was established with the lofty goal of creating eco-friendly products that promote the reggae legend’s ideals of equality, unity, authenticity, charity, and sustainability.
The House of Marley’s new audio line features boom boxes, docking stations, ear buds, and headphones infused with Marley’s personality and joy for life. Designers first established a material strategy based on renewable resources such as bamboo, wood, leather, and recycled plastic and fabric. Designs were then created to best utilize the materials – a strategy more often handled vice versa – while also emotionally resonating with the user.
The top-of–the-line Destiny Collection headphones aim to impress audiophiles, combining a richly detailed aesthetic with the best sound quality. The premium, active noise cancellation studio headphones are constructed of eco-friendly materials and feature subtle touches of the Rastafari Movement’s trademark colors.
The company is also bringing sustainable manufacturing methods to developing countries to create job opportunities. Each product will be packaged efficiently to reduce its carbon footprint, and consumers will be encouraged to reuse the packaging to donate their used goods to partnering charities.
