Entry Description

INSPIRED BY THE ICONIC AMERICAN SYMBOL, TIFFANY & CO.’S BLUE GIFT BOX, THE FACADE IS COMPRISED OF TWO DISCRETE, BUT COMPLEMENTARY PARTS.

THE UPPER PORTION (THE THIRD THROUGH THE FIFTH FLOORS) IS COMPRISED OF SOFT, TRANSLUCENT LAYERS OF SHIMMERING PALE BLUE GLASS THAT CREATE A SERENE, YET ACTIVE, PRESENCE ON HUAI HAI ROAD. THE LED INFRASTRUCTURE WILL BE UTILIZED TO CREATE STUNNING VISUAL EFFECTS BEHIND THIS EPHEMERAL VEIL.

THE DOUBLE HEIGHT LOWER PORTION, COMPRISED OF BOTH CLEAR AND OPAQUE BRONZE GLASS, IS SHEATHED IN GLITTERING METAL PATTERNED SCREENS. TO CREATE DRAMA AND EXCITEMENT, THESE PANELS, COMPRISED OF A LIGHT BRONZE AND NICKEL LATTICE, ALLOW DIFFUSED GLIMPSES INTO THE WORLD OF TIFFANY & CO. THE OVERALL EFFECT IS AN ALLUSION TO JEWELRY: THE SCREENS ARE THE FILIGREE OR METAL BANDING SUPPORT, AND THE BLUE GLASS IS THE SPARKLING “GEM.”

INSIDE THE BOUTIQUE, GLASS FLUTING, SILVER LEAF, LIMED OAK AND LACQUER PANELS ARE EXQUISITELY COMPOSED IN A FRESH INTERPRETATION OF THE BRAND’S RICH HISTORY. A GRACEFUL ARCING STAIR OF MARBLE, WALNUT AND BRONZE, SOARS TROUGH THE SPACE ENCIRCLING A SUSPENDED CRYSTAL GLASS CHANDELIER AS IT ASCENDS.

MANY OF THE INTERIOR SURFACES, FABRICATED OF VARIOUS TYPES OF GLASS, ARE FURTHER ENRICHED THROUGH INNOVATIVE METHODS OF TRADITIONAL ARTISAN TECHNIQUES SUCH AS ÈGLOMISÈ, SILVER LEAF AND GLASS ETCHING.

NEW AND EXCITING DISPLAY TECHNIQUES HIGHLIGHT INNOVATIVE WAYS TO TANTALIZE AND EXCITE THE TIFFANY CUSTOMER AND CREATE A MORE DYNAMIC SELLING EXPERIENCE – ALL OF WHICH ECHO THE RICH CRAFTSMANSHIP AND QUALITY OF THE BRAND, YET INTRODUCE A FRESH NEW ERA.
