Entry Description

Archizo Blocks for the blind and visually impaired is the 2nd release of Archizo Blocks. The new blocks also reflect building's facade. The details are depicted through the use of contrasting colours (yellow, blue) and convexity. The user assembles the object by himself thanks to a dedicated frame. He experiences architecture, learns its shapes, divisions, and gets to know the scale inaccessible to him. That's why the blocks fight against social exclusion of disabled people. Archizo rehabilitate – it recreate and develop perspective memory, hand-eye coordination, exercise small motor skills.

Bio

Archizo is a creator of the highly innovative architectural building blocks.
Archizo blocks was developed by Marta Nowacka - art historian, historic preservation officer, pedagogue and cultural manager. She was establishing an original curriculum of workshops in the field of architectural identity. She needed an teaching aid, but she could not buy it. The Archizo blocks were used to complete over 200 workshops.
