John Wells Productions Office

In a change of pace, John Wells Productions was looking to grow into their own space with a desire to create purpose-built spaces while retaining a relaxed home feeling. We started by combining two old bow-string buildings into an extensive core & shell construction, allowing for structural retrofits and the introduction of large skylights to open the space with natural light. The form factor of the traditional Japanese Bento Box informed the office's layout by nesting the building's micro-architecture spaces, creating differentiated areas between working rooms and communal spaces.

ShubinDonaldson(SD) was founded in 1991 by Robin Donaldson, AIA and Russell Shubin, AIA with a shared vision to provide architectural services for discriminating, ambitious clients who appreciate quality design. Mark Hershman joined SD in 2000 and has been elevated to partner in 2017.
