Entry Description

The Centennial Planetarium is a landmark in the minds of many Calgarians, and the re-imagining of its interiors required a thoughtful intervention. Located in the city’s downtown core, the building originally opened in 1967, and is a site of historic significance. To that end, it was imperative that the building’s heritage features were celebrated throughout its renovation, while adding new materials which would offer a contemporary aesthetic. The project provides a space to engage with international artwork, and once again gives the building an opportunity to enrich its community.
