Entry Description

The Dutch postage stamps showcasing typical Dutch food, are the first in a new ‘Typical Dutch’ series. Each stamp presents an iconic piece of food, isolated on a white plate with fork and knife on a colored background, thus turning the stamps into the smallest placemats in the world. The stamps have a more modern feel than usual, reaching a younger audience than traditional stamps.

The foods displayed are carrots, smoked sausage, ‘bitterballen’, millefeuille and chocolate sprinkles. On the stamp collector sheets, the foods are also shown in their culinary context.
