Entry Description

This is a house/atelier with holes becoming gardens that brings natural light and air.On a 9m x 26m narrow site, we first erected a“shell”of maximum volume within building code. Then, we punctuated“holes”where suitable to welcome light and wind and inside created garden with plants that relates to each room.
While the exposed concrete wall creates a sense of continuity, the“shell”uses the exterior insulation method, which the heat capacity of the wall enables a stable temperature change.
The box culvert structure also maintains the sense of continuity and creates an unobstructed tunnel space.
