Entry Description

The Slope House is located on a gentle slope of a mountainous topography in Wonju, South Korea. Design concept for this house is to compose a sloped surface that doubles as roof and facade. The roof is not only an apparatus that gives strong visual impact to residents and visitors, but also a metaphor of the Kam-Ak mountain.
In addition, the house consists of three volumes that are split underneath the roof. The volumes are arranged so they are facing the approach trail and thus inviting people. Eventually, the roof and the volumes are combined into an entity, creating an holistic gesture.
