Marrying her firm’s foundational design principles of sustainability and biophilia with the ancient Japanese philosophy of Ikigai, Carr brings an innovative and harmonizing energy to the traditional Southampton home. This project reflects her unique Holistic Design approach.
Carr says, “I wanted to create a space that amplifies the serenity of a renewing weekend in Southampton. I envision this room as a spot for quiet meditation, a sun salutation or two, reading, reverie, or whatever practice facilitates inner peace for the visitor so that they leave feeling restored.”
Laurence Carr Inc. is an international interior design firm specializing in residential and hospitality interiors. LC work is known for artfully weaving holistic wellbeing principles and ancient techniques together into a contemporary restorative harmonious aesthetic.
Nominated for ASID National Awards 2019 “Design for Humanity", design influencer with a blog "Beyond Aesthetics", LC is now growing a line of licensee and products collections.
She is an advocate for circular economy, a brand Ambassador for the Sustainable Furnishings Council and on the Board of nonprofit Thinking Huts.
