Entry Description

dongqi Architects designed CONCEPTS International’s 1st store in China by dividing the original space into two interiors with distinguishable vibes, a solution to fulfil the retailer’s diverse operational needs. The front space maintains the cozy ambiance of the original century-old Shikumen style of buildings in old Shanghai – ideal for reception, product shows and events. The back space for retail sales is deliberately blocked from the main path to create a sense of mystery. Unlike the front, this area is built with anodic aluminum oxide to create a contemporary intervention.
