Entry Description

Pingtung Martial Arts Hall, a contemporary museum in Taiwan, is a historical architecture called “BUTOKUDEN“ which built for police training in 1930 Japanese colonization period. The logo comprises both the Mandarin character “Martial Arts” and the modernizing and simplifying the characteristic roof “Karahafu,” to show a type of gable with a style peculiar to Japan.

A flexible system of patterns has been developed that are inspired by architectural details and which can be reconfigured almost infinitely. This approach allowed the brand design to be applied broadly across all other media.
