Entry Description

Sozu.S1 is a premium arcade controller for the retro Nintendo SNES & Super Famicom game consoles.

With my core focus on Japanese design sensibilities and sustainable design, Sozu.S1 is made from architectural-grade bamboo, CNC machined for perfect precision. Each body goes through a meticulous hand finishing process, including sanding to a fine P800 for a silk-like touch.

Materials have been selected that will gain a beautiful patina in time, such as the aluminium turbo dial & inlaid brass token.

Popular gaming site Nintendo Life called it "The Ultimate SNES Stick" in their review.

Bio

I am currently studying the second year of Product Design at Teesside University.

Upon graduation I aim to continue releasing new designs under my Shika Arcades project.

I'm interested in entropy, divergence and how items age and can develop over time. Ultimately, my goal is trying to create timeless products that people love and find enriching.
