Entry Description

Quartier Riedenburg, formerly a military base not accessible to the public, is now part of the city’s fabric with various squares, courtyards, a kindergarten, House of Architecture and a 5000m2 park. Quartier Riedenburg is a mixed development with 75% of its housing subsidised. The huge scale is broken down to small neighbourhoods by creating clusters of three blocks set together around a slightly elevated space, and the use of different colours around the square. The new kindergarten is integrated into the new 5000m2 park which is sheltered from traffic noise and slopes towards the hill.
