Maarten has always had an affinity for birds and years ago he came across the illustrations by John James Audubon and John Gould which have been inspiration ever since. Inspiration which he has tweaked, morphed and abstracted into a collection of ultra-detailed handmade rugs with more than 252.000 knots per square meter.
