Entry Description

This house design was based on a traditional Irish farmhouse cluster on a greenfield site amid the hedgerows of rural Co. Cork. A passive house by the Sullane river pays deep attention not only to energy efficiency but also to natural light, elegant design and preserving the ecology of its sensitive setting. Constructed with a highly insulated and airtight timber frame, produced by a local manufacturer with a rendered masonry outer skin. With careful consideration was given to architectural detailing and materials resulting in a contemporay rural design with a nod to the vernacular.
