Homeless build own homes in playground factory

Entry Description

4 homeless people has designed their own 4 personal houses in collaboration with 4 architects. They afterwards built the houses in our workshop in collaboration with our inhouse carpenters. The result is colorfull and bold.

The project is funded by MONSTRUM and suppliers. Furniture by Hay. Organized by Projekt Udenfor. Temporary sites by The city of Århus. Everybody working together towards a higher social awareness.

The houses are arranged in small temporary communities utilizing undeveloped building cites owned by the city.
The houses are approx. 3 x 6 m and easily movable.

Bio

At MONSTRUM we create thematic playgrounds that fascinate and inspire both adults and children. Based on visual arts and design, MONSTRUM makes playgrounds where you can climb, swing and slide, but witch also initiate play by being a space for imagination.

All our playgrounds are handmade from wood at our workshop in Denmark, and our skilled craftsmen and designers work closely together throughout the process to ensure that our playgrounds and equipments become fun, safe and unique.
