Originally from Honduras, Andrea Cabrera wanted her first collection to tie back to traditions and cultural items from her country. The Lenca people are the largest indigenous population of Honduras who take pride in their rich traditions and culture. They are artisans who excel in textiles, pottery, and painting and the textiles are distinctive for their brightly colored and hypnotizing checked patterns made from wool yarns. The concept of this collection celebrates culture through the clash of traditional crafts with contemporary womenswear.
