A new range of lights has been developed by architectural practice studio sanshea in their continual fascination of light as the vital dimension in space making and architecture. Building upon research combining mathematics, art, and modern craftsmanship, ‘touch down’ is a range of ‘moments’ where light touches "woven" paper.
Using numerical algorithms, paper strips are mechanically cut and “knitted”. Under patient hands, paper, with its humble but expressive translucent quality, becomes a precise distillation of something which nevertheless will always be ephemeral - light.
