Entry Description

Nigeria produces close to 2 million tons of tomatoes annually; however, up to 75% of produce in the tomato value chain is lost due to Post Harvest Loss (PHL). By infusing care into this system, our suite of solutions aims to reduce loss incurred after harvest. Creating an Aggregation Center Game, as well as a toolkit, aim to facilitate dialogue between farmers and facilitators to develop a hub for new economic opportunities and to reduce PHL. Both the game and the toolkit have been put into practice and are influencing the 14,000 smallholder farmers involved in this value chain.
