Experimenting with form and technique, we achieve a coherent vision of functional accessories, lighting and architectural detailing. Our interest is in the inherent attributes of glass, which we infuse into the details and design of each esque object. Each piece produced is handmade to order, and is a unique, functional, collectable piece of art.
Esque evolved through the collaboration between Justin Parker and Andi Kovel. The duo has risen to international acclaim over the past 10 years, (most recently honored by Time magazine as one of the ?design 100?, today?s most influential international designers) and leads the American market for hand blown, modern, functional glass works.
Justin Parker is most known for his knowledge and skill in creating enormous pieces of glass. He studied under Italian masters with a focus on glass sculpture (hand sculpted glass), and applies this background and history to each of his designs. He is also an accomplished artist, exhibiting at venues such as the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Justin has taught specialty classes around the world (including parsons), has produced fine art pieces for artists including; Jim Dine, Kiki Smith and Tony Oursler, and is at the top of his field
Andi Kovel is celebrated internationally as an influential accessory designer and glass blower, in addition to her career as a fine artist. She has exhibited with Claus Oldenburg, Damien Hirst and Kiki Smith, has designed glass lines for Ralph Lauren and Donna Karen, and is most recognized for her new forms, techniques and concepts in the field of glass.
