I was tasked with creating the design, layout, printing, and binding of a book for Typography II. Mind you - I’ve never created more than a handful of editorial spreads, let alone bind a book before. I was scared. Since these text selections themselves might not necessarily keep the reader on the edge of their seat, I really wanted to be experimental with my big, chunky, type explorations. I thought that the combination of bold colors and even bolder type, paired nicely with the structure of my grid and everyone’s favorite, Helvetica.
