Entry Description

Like a ribbon that gradually unfurls across the water, the new walkway is a fluid area that invites to stroll and wander around the foot of the emblematic Jet d’Eau. The watchword for this project was accessibility for all: boats, yachtsmen, walkers, tourists and people with reduced mobility. Everybody is welcome to this new public space.
Spanning over 12m long and rising more than 2m high, the deck turns into a 10 steps stair. The scissor mechanisms are about 1.20 m high and each weigh 400 kg. They were extremly precisely cut from 20-60mm stainless steel plate using a water jet cutter.
