Entry Description

This LEED Gold Certified project is located in close
proximity to a new and existing hospital towers, and
adjacent wetlands in a serene canyon environment. The
project was designed to be unimposing on the natural
setting and minimize impact to the environment. To
effectively design the central plant and adhere to the
commitment of least environmental impact, the design
used a two-story terraced approach where only one-story
remains visible and the step of the second story
diminishes the impact on the canyon. The design includes
taking strips of earth and laying them down on top of the
central plant to visually integrate the building into the
landscape of the canyon.
